Join us for 3 days of intensive avalanche education! We start with the idea that, while complicated, avalanches are understandable and predictable: understandable events lead to the potential for an avalanche to occur and the triggers that start them can be predicted as well. We will spend mornings in the classroom and afternoons up in Rocky Mountain National Park deep in the terrain we just studied. By the time you leave this course, you will have a solid base of understanding for which you can safely make decisions in the backcountry for years to come. Whether your goal is ripping gnarly couloirs or meadow hopping with the family this course is the definitive starting point for your education!
Students need snowshoes or AT ski/splitboard rig and the skills to use it (minimum: able to solidly ski blues at a resort).
