Growing up in Waltham, Massachusetts, Michael developed an early love for adventure and exploration. After high school, he set off on a transformative journey, traveling to Nepal and india, which sparked his passion for the outdoors. Eventually, Michael landed in Valdez, Alaska, where he earned a degree in Environmental Studies with a focus on Outdoor Education. During this time, he also served as an adjunct professor, teaching beginner-level outdoor courses.
Beyond his teaching, Michael is deeply involved in his community, volunteering as an EMT at the local fire station and working as a paraeducator at a middle school.
These days, Michael lives in Valdez with his girlfriend and two dogs, where he spends his free time climbing world-class frozen waterfalls and skiing the renowned terrain of Thompson Pass.
