Companion Rescue Course

Spend a day with KMAC learning and improving your avalanche rescue skills. First we will meet at our Stanley Hotel headquarters and spend some time talking theory in the classroom. Next we will head into the alpine of Rocky Mountain National Park for some intensive hands-on practice with efficiently conducting an avalanche transceiver (beacon) search, quick probing for victims, and we will practice several methods of quickly shoveling someone out once located. All participants will gets lots of one-on-one time with instructors focused on improving their personal skills and we will give each a plan to move forward with for a career of ever-improving rescue abilities.

This course is great for backcountry first-timers and seasoned pros alike. Many take this annually to dust off their skills for the season. If you need a beacon/shovel/probe we got you covered! Otherwise all you need is winter clothes.
